ed has had the pleasure of being involved in cycling for most of his life. The appreciation for a finely made road bike was instilled in him by his father. ed still has his pops’ french made Gitane. ed also has been skiing for close to thirty years, and has been all over the country experiencing interesting ski culture. A trip to the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin opened up the amazing world of sea kayaking, and kayak touring to him. Giving athletes in less mainstream sports the same amount of respect and admiration is a big goal in ed’s photography. ed is currently working on a project called Fitchburg / Athlete, focusing on residents of Fitchburg, MA, who either compete in unique sports, or embrace a sporting lifestyle. Photos from that project can be found on ed’s blog and in an upcoming exhibition, scheduled to open in April 2011.
